Artist Statement (what June1977 said about their artwork)
1. To create this artwork, I learned about different media and then contributed them into my cartoon character. I used the medias of glitch, realism, drip, and shading.
2. My favorite part of this art piece is the drip effect. I feel that that square looks very cool and I like how the colors turned out.
3. My least favorite part of this artwork is how my art tools faded. The ink of the paint markers and the alcohol markers ran out. It made it look unfinished in my opinion. The color pencil background I feel could have been better too.
4. My inspiration for creating this artwork was myself. Growing up, I watched the Garfield show and it gave me the idea to chose Garfield as my cartoon character to draw.
5. If I were to create this artwork again, I would change my background color choices. I would do a color that is less likely to be difficult to finish.
6. Some concepts that I learned during the making of this artwork was the different medias of art. I did not know there was such a thing as "glitch effect"
7. The difficulty of coloring a nice even layer was a lot more difficult then I had thought. I was not expecting it to clump when going over it again.
