About this School Project (Self Portrait)
Students began by learning facial proportions and practiced drawing them in their sketchbooks. They used mirrors and reference photos of eyes, noses, mouths, and hairstyles to try to capture the features in their portraits. Once they received their final paper, they balanced the size of their image to their paper and began developing ideas for a background. They used the Crayola- colors of the world pencils, markers, and crayons to match their skin tone and hair color.
