About this School Project (K - “I” is for imagination)
We read The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Manus Pinkwater. It is a story about a man who wanted his house to be different from all the others on his street and how he inspired his neighbors to be creative with theirs as well. Students were each given an open envelope and asked to glue it onto their paper. They were then asked to use their imagination to turn the envelope into their “dream” house. They were encouraged to be creative and add things to their house or surrounding their house to make it unique and different!
