Artist Statement (what MrsPfeiffer2 said about their artwork)
I created this acrylic painting with some injured students in mind. I chose the bright sunrise colors in the sky to show hope. I also chose to include a waterfall to show that we should always be reflecting on who we are and where we are going. As I was working, I built layers up of acrylic paint to create the colors and textures that I wanted. At one time, I wanted the ground to be more yellow, so I added a lot of pale yellow. I then decided that it stood out too much. I wanted the waterfall to stand out more so I changed the ground to a more reddish-brown. I really like the reflections in the water of the colors from the sky, it unifies the work well.
