Artist Statement (what Palmer411 said about their artwork)
I chose grit because I think it is a very important word in life. The big idea of this artwork is that you should always believe I’m yourself.
About this School Project (Graffiti Word Art)
Students learned about Graffiti and Word Art! We tried out bubble and block letters. We also explored spacing and overlap (kern). As well as, embellishments (such as serifs and patterns). Students chose a positive or inspirational verb of personal interest to create their "piece" (aka masterpiece). Students used neon tempera cakes to create colors that transition into each other (ie ombre, or gradient). These artworks are not "toys" (aka scribbles). The kids have put some serious work into creating these "pieces" (aka masterpieces)!
