About this School Project (3 Looney Toon Names)
Students learned to create concentric circles using a compass. We talked about tints and shades, and how to make one color darker using one dab of another color at a time. Students chose a color combination to paint the circles in the tradition of the "Looney Toons" cartoon logo. For the names, we looked at graffiti style fonts and typography. Students then wrote their names and used an opposite color scheme for those. By placing the name on the background, students created CONTRAST. We also talked about how their piece is more interesting by gluing their name diagonally, instead of horizontally.
