About this School Project (Fall Zentangles)
Students chose from 4 leaf SHAPES, or a pumpkin, to trace and cut out of paper. They divided their shape into sections to fill with a VARIETY of PATTERNS. We discussed VALUE -darks and lights- and students were asked to create their patterns in a RANGE OF VALUES: dark, medium, and light. They were encouraged to arrange those patterns in a COMPOSITION that was VISUALLY BALANCED.
Finally, students chose areas on their leaf to accentuate with color, while trying to maintain the visual balance.
