About this School Project (2 Colorful Fruit Bowls)
Second graders learned so much during this collage project. First, we used the resist method to create patterned backgrounds. Next we cut symmetrical bowls and printed them with blue and white patterns. Then we brainstormed fruits and vegetables that were the secondary colors: purple, green and orange. We drew the fruits and veggies, and then used only the primary colors (red, yellow and blue) to mix those hues and paint them. We glued our bowls to be slightly open (3D!), and layered our foods in the bowls. Viola!
