About this School Project (1st: Fall Leaf Color Prints)
1st grade students learned about Pennsylvania trees, we explored the Oak and the Sugar Maple! Students picked either to trace the oak leaf outline or sugar maple leaf outline to begin. We reviewed line and pattern and students created line patterns within their leaves with permanent marker. On the second day of the project we did bleeding tissue paper prints by covering our entire papers with colored square tissue paper and used paint brushes to "paint" water on top of the tissue paper. Students explored color mixing by overlapping different tissue paper colors to make new colors! After the tissue paper dried I took the tissue paper off to reveal a beautiful bleeding tissue paper print on their leaf drawings!
