About this School Project (Tim Burton Inspired Self-Portraits)
The students learned the difference between "portrait" and "self-portrait" and created a self-portrait using black and white colored pencils in the style of Tim Burton. The student's started with an outline, drawing large eyes, a thin neck and shoulders. Then they added personal features such as their head shape, hairstyle and school uniform. Shading and pops of color were added to complete the drawing and create the illusion of form on a flat surface.
