About this School Project (1st-Scarecrow Drawing)
Students focused on using lines and shapes to create a drawing of a scarecrow. They were encouraged to add a lot of detail to their scarecrow's face and clothing and to add a detailed background to their drawing. For coloring and finishing our scarecrows we focused on texture. We discussed implied texture and actual texture. Students used texture rubbing plates and crayons to color in their scarecrow and background to create implied texture and then glued on materials such as buttons, fabric patches and straw to give their work actual texture.
