About this School Project (Hexagon Project 2024)
"We live in a world that is increasingly interconnected and interdependent at local, regional, national and global levels," The Hexagon Project. Students drew what they felt connected to, what is important to them. Students were encouraged to have their art be... CREATIVE- unique and original, CONNECTIONS- how is this related to you, COMMUNICATION- what are you trying to say or convey through your art.
Additionally, some students choose to relate their image to the official Hexagon Project 2024 theme, which is PEACE. They could do inner peace, world peace, or draw something that brings them peace/joy. The International Day of Peace has been designated by the United Nations as September 21st. Students also learned the Hexagon project began as an artistic response to 9-11 to show we are connected and dependent on each other as people and nations.
Some of the younger artists were free to color their hexagon any way they wanted to.
