Artist Statement (what StudentAbigail5 said about their artwork)
I picked Suni Lee as my hero. I picked this because Suni Lee does gymnastics and I used to. Also she pushes through and keeps going when things are hard or difficult and I wish to be just like her. I used texture and lines by using sponges to create the background. I also used line by tracing the lines of a picture of her.
About this School Project (6th Grade Line and Texture Hero Portraits)
Students reviewed the element of line for the hero of their choice. This was then transferred from a photo to a transparency in sharpie. Then for the background students used expressive painting with printing tools to create action and a blurred background.
