Artist Statement (what FriendThanpitcha1 said about their artwork)
I chose the subject of this composition by looking at what is the spotlight aka the reason on why I took the photo, and it was also located in the middle. I colored it because I think she is the main subject of the picture. The word joy applies to my theme as I chose to draw Taylor Swift because her music makes me joyful. Some challenges were drawing the faces and coloring taylor as I’m not very good at drawing people and coloring realistically. There’s not really anything symbolic in my subject matter but Taylor Swift is one of my favorite music artists. As I was currently working on my drawing at home and typing this up, I am currently listening to Taylor Swift.
About this School Project (Sem 1- MS 2D 8 - Unit 1 - A Glimpse of Color)
Students worked from one of their own photographs to make a pen & ink drawing with the full range of values. They emphasized one key part of their composition using colored pencil techniques.
