About this School Project (K - “A” is for abstract art; “B” is for brush)
We read the book titled “Artist” by Ed Verne. We talked about how everyone is an artist. We looked at “Flora on the Sand” by Paul Klee and talked about why it was abstract art. The students then created their own abstract art by drawing lines with pencils to create squares and rectangles. Next, they used oil pastels to trace the insides of some of their shapes. Finally, they were introduced to the brush and how to properly care and use one. They spent a class painting over their oil pastels and squares.
