Artist Statement (what Dren11 said about their artwork)
This is my weaving! I love the colors pink, blue, and white. They are my favorite. These colors also look neat and cool in my opinion. I did 8 rows of Tabby Weave and 4-5 rows of Basket Weave. I think I did pretty good for a first timer! I had a lot of fun making it and am proud because I have never weaved! Looks neat and awesome!
About this School Project (Weaving)
After group discussions, our young weavers decided that a successful weaving should have limited color and tidy edges. We also discussed the Navajo weaving tradition, looking at work by contemporary Navajo weavers. Students were not required to finish this weaving, but were asked to begin the basics with at least one additional advanced weaving technique.
