About this School Project (1st: Thiebaud Cupcakes)
1st graders learned about artist Wayne Thiebaud and his love for painting sweet treats, like cakes, cupcakes, lollipops, gumball machines and more! We looked the form of a cupcake at how to draw a cupcake realistically. After drawing our cupcakes we studied texture and picked out texture rubbing plates to create texture on our backgrounds and on the wrapper of the cupcake. Last, we used oil pastel to make pretty designs on our icing and used watercolor to make the frosting nice and bright!
