About this School Project (Norvel Morrisseau Thunderbird)
Students learned about Indigenous Canadian Norvel Morrisseau and how he paints pictures of animals with bright colored geometric and biomorphic shapes on the inside so it gives his artwork an X-ray look. Morrisseau's Ojibway name is "Copper Thunderbird" and his art is signed with the symbols for this name. Students then created their own drawing of a thunderbird in the style of Morrisseau.
