About this School Project ((Yellow) Rainbow Ice Cream)
Students sketched out simple shapes on a 6 X 18" paper, using a triangle for a cone, and circles with wavy lines for ice cream scoops. They made sure that their ice cream cone had six scoops. Students learned how to mix brown by using the primary colors (or complementary pairs), and painted in the cone. After learning how to create tints (mixing a hue with white), students mixed tints of the primary colors (yellow, blue red), and the secondary colors (green, violet, orange). They finished by painting in each of the scoops with tints (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet).
