About this School Project (7th Japanese Pagoda)
Students study Japanese Sumi-e painting and then create their own Japanese landscape to test the technique. Students create a multi level pagoda using symmetry and create a landscape surrounding the pagoda. Emphasis is created with bold red pieces and space is created using a variety of values. Students create a foreground, middle ground and background.
