About this School Project (4th grade - Floral Design Metalwork)
Students learned about the technique of embossing metal using chasing and repoussé techniques to create a low relief sculpture. First, students used embossing tools to press their floral design into a thin sheet of copper, and had the option to create a border. Next, some students added a layer of black sharpie as a "patina" and rubbed the piece with steel wool to remove the black color from the high points.
