About this School Project (Michelangelo Unit)
With this unit, we are studying the work of Michelangelo and learning that he was an artist with many hats. We learned about him designing the dome of St. Peter's Basilica and worked in repeated patterns to design our own basilicas. Next, we learned about him being a fantastic sculptor and tried to make shadows and highlights on our mini Pietas. Finally we painted under our desks to experience what he might have felt like taking ten years-although we only took ten minutes or so, to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. We hope you enjoy our show. We sure had an exciting time making all of these projects about Michelangelo.
