About this School Project (6th - Chalk Pastel Succulent Drawings)
Students learned about different drawing mediums including different kinds of pastels. They then looked botanical images in macro perspective and artists who work in macro perspective, such as painter Georgia O'Keefe, and photographer Karl Blossfeldt. They then worked from reference images of succulents and looked for simple shapes and patterns to render a drawing. They traced their drawing in glue or oil pastel, and then added color in chalk pastel.
