About this School Project (2nd grade Dragon Paintings)
Students in 2nd grade painted dragons. Students listened and watched a video describing the origin of dragon mythology. Students discussed and identified differences between depictions of dragons from Europe and Asia. Then, students drew their own dragons.
Students included the following their artwork:
-A dragon made of simple shapes.
-Details and textures in the dragon and background.
-Careful use of water-based paint (tempera wash) and/or colored pencil for the dragon and background.
