About this School Project (204 Jungle Scenes)
Second graders learned about artist Henri Rousseau and discussed his jungle-themed paintings. They completed this project with two challenges: How many tints and shades of greens can you mix? How can you use your brush in a new way? I demonstrated using the brush to make various brushstrokes and how to get different types of lines. They experimented to make greens and to use these new brush techniques before painting these jungle scenes. I let them add animals with oil pastels after the paint dried.
