Artist Statement (what Kaileigh304 said about their artwork)
My favorite part about my cake is probably my colors that I chose. I feel like they go really well together and compliment each other well. My least favorite part of my cake is the pink and purple pearls I put at the bottom of both cakes. I don't really like it because I think it kind makes my cake look funny. What I did to create this artwork was I started with the to cakes. Then I made the cake stand and cut out a little piece of the cake. Then I colored it and added shadow. The element of art I used was form. Wayne Thiebaud made 3D cakes and this cake reminded me of him because I feel like these would be some colors he would chose.
About this School Project (Wayne Thiebaud Cakes)
Students learned about American Painter Wayne Thiebaud and how he was considered a POP Artist. His earlier painting career consisted of painting food and sweets, including cakes, pies, ice cream and candy. Students learned about form in art and created their own 3D cakes.
