About this School Project (Cyanotype Landscape Prints)
Students were to gather materials and create a landscape. The fabric is called cyanotype fabric. The materials we collected acted as our "negative" that we placed on the fabric and doing so blocks direct sunlight. Once exposed to the sun they are then placed in water and creates the print you see.
Comments about this Artwork
This is very interesting, Paisley. Its title is “Cyanotype Landscape Prints.” What is cyanotype? Is it a special kind of paper or ink? The print looks like it’s kind of like a negative image on film (film is something that the old kinds of cameras used before we had digital cameras). Are those plants that you used to make the print? It’s an interesting art method—you’ll have to explain how it works the next time we visit.
