Artist Statement (what Evelyn15433 said about their artwork)
My favorite part of my artwork was coloring my bug with the chalk pastels. My bug surprised me by how well the pastels blended. Some of the concepts I learned was how well chalk pastels blended.
About this School Project (3rd Grade Insect Art)
We learned the various body parts of insects and talked about their life cycles. Students drew an insect on one side of a paper and created the other side by folding their paper and rubbing it with scissors so the pencil lines would transfer to the other half of the paper. We learned that this is symmetry. They traced their lines with black markers and then traced the black lines with glue. When it was dry, we add chalk pastels in bright, bold colors.
