About this School Project (3rd Grade Gyotaku Prints - Glow Gallery)
Third graders learned about the Japanese artform of Gyotaku. They created their own fish prints using rubber fish forms, and selected their best cut out and finalize. Students then looked at two different paintings, "The Eclipse" by Alma Thomas and "Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh. They discussed the similarities and differences of the two paintings, and used those artworks as inspiration to paint their backgrounds.
