About this School Project (1st Sewing)
Students are learning how to sew using patterns in the art room! This skill helps with eye-hand coordination, is practical, and builds confidence. Students have the choice of practicing the over-under pattern to make a running stitch in multiple ways such as easy, medium, or hard. Easy is big and short lines with the addition of noodles. The use of noodles helps students retain the mechanics of sewing. It is a medium choice if students use a simple shape like a circle or square. It hard choice to use complex shapes like a letter or cat/dog head shape with details.
