Artist Statement (what Maria15222 said about their artwork)
I used mostly pastels but then I used a coloring marker like tool that came out like a pastel. I used some cotton swabs to swab the dna of people that I am compadres with to see if they have covid 19 to keep them safe. Some choices i made were using the pastel marker like thing that helped me a lot when I messed up. Almost every tool worked very well and enhanced my drawing lots. And some problems were when I accidentally drew my squares to close together that lj made the skin color black but I fixed it with the pastel marker.
About this School Project (Dragon Eye)
Artists explore working on a textured surface to produce a close-up of a Dragon's eye and the surrounding scales. The challenge of working on textured Painted Paper, using oil pastel techniques, and creating implied glossy/shiny and scaly/bumpy textures, pushes artists to work outside their comfort zone, to stretch and explore. Artists express individuality through paper selection, color schemes, and shapes to make a unique and fanciful study of an eye.
