Artist Statement (what Didi29 said about their artwork)
My favorite part of this art work is that it reflects my personality. I really like rabbits and their personality. However, I don’t like that the glaze on this piece doesn’t cover the whole rabbit. My inspirational was my own rabbits. I would change the ears so that they come down instead of up, because my own rabbits are holland lops which have their ears down instead of up. Some concepts I learned while doing this artwork was how we needed to apply the glaze properly to make it even. Something that surprised me during this project was that we needed to wedge clay before we started. Another thing that surprised me was that the glaze could become glass. To make this artwork, first we had to design and sculpt our palette. Then we would leave it to dry and then bake it in the kiln. After it can out of the kiln, we apply the glaze by dipping it into the bowl of glaze, careful not to get it in the bottom. Then we bake it in the kiln once more and then we are then complete with the palette.
