Artist Statement (what Sienna2518 said about their artwork)
My design process consisted of me seeing what patterns worked best on the birch trees. I didn’t explore a lot of different ideas for this project. I used shading and layering for this project. The artwork was organized by me starting with one part and then moving on to the next. Color, and repetition were effective in creating this painting. I would see this artwork as partly successful, because on one hand I like the trees but I felt that I could’ve had more detail in the sky. I feel like this could’ve been more successful if I had taken more time on the grass surrounding the trees. I would say that the technique could also be improved.
About this School Project (Art 1 - Birch Tree Landscape Painting)
For this assignment, we discussed landscape paintings and the different areas in a landscape painting. We then explored working with tempera and acrylic paints. Students created their background, middle ground using tempera paints. We then discussed using acrylic paints to create the birch trees that would be in the foreground.
