Artist Statement (what Sebastian12846 said about their artwork)
The cave this art came from is the Lascaux cave. In this artwork we learned about cave art which came from many different countries. We also learned about shading in parts of the paper to make it look more like a cave wall. We tried to replicate a piece of cave art from a cave and make it look as realistic as possible.
About this School Project (6th Grade Cave Art)
The 6th graders studied prehistoric art. They learned about the earliest art found on earth through researching caves found in Europe, Australia and Africa. Each student selected a cave to study and use as as inspiration to create their reproduction using pencil and oil pastel on wrinkled butcher block paper. They had a lot of fun creating their piece.
