About this School Project (Mindful Breaths)
5th grade students focus on mindful breathing while embracing vulnerability, and making mistakes. We listen to the story, Beautiful Oops by Bernie Saltzman that shows us how mistakes can be turned into art. In the first step, artists will experiment with a variety of mark making tools, such as white oil pastel, to create a personally satisfying watercolor resistant work of art. Next, students have the option to cut, tear, or rip into their paper, or not. Students will interpret the mood of artworks based on color, line, shapes and forms. Watercolor, drawing and collage are incorporated in the composition. Some came up with interesting themes, or mash-ups. Enjoy our expressive artworks!
