About this School Project (K: Starry Night Fox)
We learned about artist, Vincent Van Gogh and his Starry Night painting. We created beautiful swirly skies with oil pastels and watercolor to resemble the famous painting.
Students also learned about what shapes make up different animals. We looked at a fox and discovered that the ears are triangles, an oval body, circle eyes and nose, rectangle legs, and the face is also pointed like a triangle but with a curved top (like a baseball field!). Students followed a step-by-step drawing of a fox using shapes and then we used the Primary colors (Red, Yellow, and Blue) to make secondary colors to paint with.
