About this School Project (Secondary Hearts)
Color Unit: Secondary Colors
Students learn that when you mix two primary colors you get a second set of colors: Orange, Green, and Purple. Students learned a song "Secondary Samba" by Greg Percy to help them remember the mixing formulas for secondary colors. A worksheet and a paint mixing activity was also done to practice their formulas. The final project used hands on application in mixing the correct colors together to create their secondary colors. Shaving cream, food coloring, and blank sheets of paper were used. They then learned to make symmetrical hearts out of their hand dyed paper, cutting skills were reviewed.
