About this School Project (Henri Matisse)
Students learned about the life of Henri Matisse. Students learned that he was part of the Fauvism movement. This is where the artists used unrealistic colors instead of the realistic colors to make pictures look very colorful. They also learned about abstract art. Abstract means nothing in the art that is recognizable. Abstract is just a design full of shapes, designs, and patterns. They also learned that a collage is cut paper glued to make art. When paper is cut it's either cut into geometric or organic shapes. They also learned how to cut awesome organic shapes by moving the paper with their paper holding hand instead of trying to move their scissor hand.
