About this School Project (Warm & Cool Hearts)
First grade students used the crayon watercolor resist technique to create this heart art. Before painting with watercolors, students used crayons to create a variety of lines such as horizontal, vertical, diagonal, wavy, zig-zag, curly, dashed and more to embellish their hearts. We also discussed warm colors (red, pink, orange, and yellow) and cool colors (green, blue, purple). Isn't it so pretty how the warm colors in the hearts seem to glow against the cool colors in the background?
