About this School Project (Winter Sleigh Bells)
Students will start off by looking closely at evergreen boughs to understand the bend in the branches and the direction that the needles on the boughs grow. Using information gained from that observation, students will paint their own pine boughs using a variety of line. Students will then choose whether to add some additional texture by adding “snow” to their background. Students will also learn about form, creating highlights and shadows to help their jingle bells look three-dimensional. Finally, students will focus on balance, arranging their bells on their boughs to achieve a balanced composition. Sleigh bells ring, are you listening ??
