Artist Statement (what Harper11025 said about their artwork)
I made this artwork because we were having a choice art week. I chose to do a yarn painting. I really do enjoy getting to have a choice when it comes to the artwork we are doing.
First, I picked out the colors that I wanted. Next, I used liquid glue to make a wonky shape and lay down the string on top. After that, I put one more string of the same color beside the first and continued the pattern inside each shape. At the end, there were a lot of strings of different lengths hanging over the edges, so I trimmed up the sides to make my work look neater.
I don't love the colors I chose I think the piece would look better if I would have chosen lighter colors. I absolutely love the design that I chose for this artwork. Overall, I like this piece although I think I could have done better with the color choice.
