About this School Project (Grade 6 - Watercolor Landscapes)
Students looked at the landscape work of artist, Jen Aranyi. They noticed her colorful skies and her black and white landscapes. Students learned about foreground, middle ground and background to create space or depth in a work of art. We used line to create shadow, texture and detail. We used watercolors and an analogous color scheme (3 colors in a row on the color wheel) to create the sky. Our final pieces look like celestial galaxies or the amazing Northern lights! Our young artists LOVE to get compliments on their work -- please leave a comment for an artist you know! Then become a member of their FAN CLUB, that way you will get updates as soon as they have new artwork published!
