About this School Project (Pumpkin patch INSPIRED BY ALM A THOMAS)
ABOUT ALMA THOMAS
ALMA THOMAS was an American painter best known for her color field paintings featuring distinct BRUSHSTROKES in straight lines or circles. Thomas began her career as an art teacher, gaining acclaim as a professional artist only after she retired from teaching in 1960. In 1972, she became the first African American woman to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Learning Goals:
Today I will learn about the painter ALMA THOMAS so that I CAN use defined BRUSHSTROKES inspired by her artwork.
Today I will learn about VALUE so that I CAN mix different amounts of white into a color to create various TINTS.
Today I will learn about SPACE so that I CAN arrange my pumpkins to create a foreground and a background.
