About this School Project (Op Art)
7th Graders learned about the art movement Op Art along with two of the most well known Op artists, Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley. Students were given several examples of Op art and had to come up with their own idea for an optical piece. Students had to draw their design and then used paint to fill it. They had to chose one pair of complementary (opposite) colors and stick with those colors the whole time. They could also add tints and shades of those colors.
