About this School Project (4th Drawing Studio)
In the drawing studio, students have access to a wide variety of drawing supplies. There are markers, crayons, colored pencils/sticks, oil pastels, chalk pastels, and more! Students choose what they would like to create and the medium to support their idea. In this studio, we explore where artists get their ideas from (what they see, how they feel, what they remember, and what they imagine). Still life objects change monthly to continuously supply students with fresh ideas.
In our choice-based art studio, we learn:
· To develop craft, techniques, and artistic processes.
· Persistence through challenges.
· To generate ideas independently.
· To search for meaning within an artwork.
· To receive and provide advice, suggestions, and feedback.
· To take risks, and try something new.
· To appreciate artwork created by artists from different backgrounds, cultures, and communities.
