About this School Project (Poinsettia Sponge Painting)
The students learned about Value (the darkness and lightness of a color) and created maroon (a shade of red) by mixing red and black paint together. Then the students pressed on oval shaped sponge in both the red and maroon paint to create the petals for their flower. Sponge painted leaves in green and yellow dots of paint were used to complete the artwork.
