About this School Project (3 Chicken Collages inspired by Eric Carle)
American author and artist Eric Carle was our inspiration for this project.
We learned how he makes specialty papers using different painting and printing techniques. Each student created various papers in different colors schemes, and then sponge painted a background sheet. Next we built our chickens using the collage technique, by cutting out different shapes one at a time. Students made choices on colors, aiming for contrasts that would stand out against their backgrounds. Cock-a-doodle-doo!
