About this School Project (LUCHITA HURTADO Line Design)
ABOUT THE ARTIST
LUCHITA HURTADO (1920-2020) was a Venezuelan-born American painter. Hurtado began her art career in the 1940s making window displays
and painting murals for Bloomingdale’s, the department store chain. She also worked as a freelance illustrator. Despite participating in a couple group exhibitions, Hurtado and her art were widely unknown until 2015, but in 2016 her career erupted. She remained active in the art scene up until her death, which took place just before her 100th birthday.
Learning Goals
Today I will learn about the artist LUCHITA HURTADO so that I CAN create an ABSTRACT piece of art that has been inspired by her work.
Today I will learn about COLOR so that I CAN choose a COLOR SCHEME to use in my art.
Today I will learn about PATTERN so that I CAN use LINES and COLOR to create the designs that will be cut up and then reassembled.
