About this School Project (3rd Grade Mirror Designs)
After exploring the colorful creations from a variety of Hispanic cultures (including Talavera pottery, Oaxacan woodcarving, amate bark painting and Mexican tin work), students created their own designs with a focus on understanding radial symmetry. Careful black outlines create intricate patterns that are filled with bright colors. Then we emboss a smaller frame of metal with its own radial design before adding a mirror in the middle.
