Artist Statement (what Xueen1 said about their artwork)
Our white paper relief is of a terrarium. It is hung above one of the doors in the business lounge. We chose this location because it will be seen often by the students and hopefully brighten their day.
We used symmetrical balance in our artwork, this is reflected in the flowers.
Our project creates visual movement by having the “dirt” be varying different shades of brown.
I feel like the dirt was exacted well, but the flowers and the sun was a bit ambitious of a project, not to mention tedious to create.
About this School Project (Sculpture- 3D White Paper Reliefs)
Students experimented with ways to use 3D paper to create raised relief designs. Each relief was designed to go in a specific place on campus to bring a different sense of awareness to the space, themeatically compliment the purpose of the space, or to provide art in a bare space. They tried to create visual rhythms and a sense of movement in their designs.
